Jumanji

Last update: March 12, 2023

Jumanji is located on the side of Rio Caldera in Boquete, it is the first 8a/V11 proposal in Panamá, and to this date the hardest boulder problem ascended in the country.

Location

Los Naranjos, Boquete, Chiriquí.

Coordinates: 8.8073850, -82.4571080

Description

This boulder has only one line: Jumanji. The line has a stand start of 7a+ and a sit start of 8a. It is located at the side of Rio Caldera, making it summer the best season to climb it due to the river level being at it`s lowest. The holds are sharp and hard on the skin. The sit start holds are a small side pull on the left and a big side pull on the right in the little cave.

Access

The boulder is pretty close to the street, as shown in the google maps location. As far as I know this boulder is on public property since is located on the river bed. There is only space for one car on the side of the road and the entry trail is kind of deceiving, you will not see it until you are standing close to it. See the pictures below.

Rules

  1. Pick up your trash.
  2. Do not graffiti the wall or chip holds.
